Facebook API

The Facebook API for Pages, Reels & Stories

Post text, links, photos and video to your Facebook Pages, or publish Reels and Stories, with one request. Page tokens, uploads and link previews are handled for you.

What you can publish

Every Facebook format, one endpoint

The same request that posts everywhere else, with the fields Facebook needs and nothing it doesn't.

Page posts

Text, a link, or up to 10 photos and videos, with alt text on every media item.

type: "POST"

Reels

One vertical video, 3 seconds to 8 minutes, at 540×960 or larger.

type: "REEL"

Stories

A single image or video, published to your Page's Story on schedule.

type: "STORY"

Link posts

Share a URL and let Facebook build the preview card, with an optional media title.

Beyond publishing

More than a way to post to Facebook

Everything around the post — when it goes out, how it performs, where else it lands — through the same API.

Scheduling

Schedule Facebook posts to the minute

Give a post a time and Bulkit publishes it then. Queue a week — or a quarter — of Facebook content in one go, and let retries and rate limits take care of themselves.

  • Any time zone
  • Retries built in
  • Rate limits handled
Analytics

Facebook analytics, in one schema

Page metrics over 30 days and lifetime post metrics, with reaction breakdowns. Same response shape as every other network, so there's nothing to reconcile.

  • Impressions
  • Views
  • Reactions
  • Comments
  • Shares
  • Followers
Cross-posting

Facebook and 11 more networks in one call

Add targets to the same request and one payload fans out everywhere, with each network getting the fields it needs. Upload media once and reuse it on every channel.

  • One API key
  • One schema
  • No per-network fees
AI agents

Let your AI agent post to Facebook

Bulkit's MCP server gives Claude, Cursor or any MCP-compatible agent real tools to publish and schedule to Facebook — the same actions your code calls.

  • Claude & Cursor
  • Scoped API keys
  • Every call logged

Token expiry, caught early

Page tokens last about 60 days, and a password change kills them instantly. Knowing that up front is the difference between a reconnect prompt and a silent gap in your calendar.

Native or Bulkit scheduling

Schedule through Bulkit, or pass nativeScheduleTime to hand the post to Meta's own scheduler up to 30 days ahead.

Accessible media

Attach altText to each item in mediaItems, so photos posted from your code reach screen-reader users too.

Reactions, broken down

Post analytics roll every reaction into likes, with the raw per-reaction breakdown and demographics alongside.

Facebook is one of 12 channels

Add a target and the same post goes out everywhere else too — one key, one schema, no per-network fees.

FAQ

Facebook API: common questions

  • Can I post to a Facebook personal profile?

No. Facebook's API only allows publishing to Pages, so Bulkit connects your Pages through Page Access Tokens.

  • Does the API support Facebook Reels and Stories?

Yes. Set type to REEL for a single vertical video between 3 seconds and 8 minutes, or STORY for one image or video.

  • What happens when a Facebook token expires?

Page tokens expire after roughly 60 days, or immediately after a password change. When that happens, the Page needs reconnecting before it can publish again.

  • What Facebook analytics are available?

Page impressions, unique impressions, views and followers over 30 days, and lifetime post impressions, views, reactions, comments, shares and saves. Page-level likes and comment counts aren't returned by Facebook.

  • How much does it cost?

$4.99/month with 500 actions included, then $0.01 per action. Facebook comes with every other supported network.
